UAMS Anesthesiology Faculty and Staff
All members of the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) hold academic appointments at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). The vast majority of our physician faculty have fellowship training in pediatric anesthesia; in addition, many also have further training in pediatrics, pediatric critical care, pediatric cardiac anesthesia or pain medicine. Three members of our faculty are non-pediatric trained (but core specialty board-certified) anesthesiologists who provide full-time support to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) Burn Center, where the majority of the patients are adults.
Over 18,000 anesthetics and deep sedations are performed by our faculty physicians and nurse anesthetists each year. Anesthesia or sedation is administered for all types of procedures; including cardiac, general surgery, neurological, orthopedic, radiological, and dental. Members of the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology provide anesthesia and sedation support for the ACH Burn Center, the only burn center in the state of Arkansas, and provide pain management services to both inpatients and outpatients.
